Lil’ Captain Jack
In this story of a little boy traveling on a cruise ship, the main character was inspired by the author’s son. Jack’s caricature began as pen and ink hand drawings which were rendered and colored digitally in alongside the page layout and typography design by Heather Griffin.

Princess Anna
In a fantastical kingdom of dogs, this modern fable tells the tale of a self-absorbed princess who learns a valuable lesson about treating others kindly. The main character, was based on the author’s dog, was drawn in pen and ink and accented with watercolor paint. Custom pattern design embellishes the background of the book cover. All illustration, layout design and typography by Dallas illustrator Heather Griffin.

To create dynamic caricatures of each team member’s personality, Heather visited Dallas company for an afternoon of photography and short interviews. Back at her studio, Heather created pen and ink illustrations of each person featuring their interests.
